Staying Healthy While Traveling

If you workout regularly and eat wholesome foods 80% of the time or more it’s ok to take a break from time to time. We all need rest and relaxation so don’t stress out about missing a workout here and there or having that drink on the weekend.

Now we’re certainly not advocating eating out every day and snacking on potato chips and cookies every time you head out of town. All we’re saying is you can find a balance of enjoying some much needed down time and still stay on track. Here’s a few ways to stay on track on the go:

1. Log into your SugarWOD app and pick between two different workout options you can do on the go. One option we give you is perfect if you have access to dumbbells or hotel gym equipment and the other option is perfect if you don’t have access to any equipment at all. 

2. Go for a run and enjoy the local scenery! If you’re not much of a runner go rent a bike from a local bike shop and go for a bike ride. If that’s not an option simply going for a long walk works great too!

3. Balance what you eat. Don’t stress about meeting your macros or hitting your ideal portion sizes while on the go. Instead just try and balance your meals throughout the day. If you’re gonna enjoy a fancy dinner eat a healthy breakfast and maybe a lighter lunch. If you’re gonna grab a donut from your favorite out of town donut shop then eat a lunch full of fruits, veggies and lean meats. Don’t over complicate things. 

Remember, the point of vacation is to let loose a bit and enjoy some much needed rest and relaxation with as little stress as possible. Try and stick to the above as best you can and you’ll come home recharged, just as fit, and be able to get back to your normal routine so much easier.
